Today, 20th January the famous children’s author and ex-pupil of Oakley Lower School, Steve Cole, came to Oakley to speak to the children in Years 3 and 4 about his life, his decision to become an author and, of course, his books!

Steve Cole has written many different books over the years, some of the most famous of which include the Astrosaurs series, Cows in Action, the Slime Squad, Z Rex and even some Dr Who books!

Steve gave a highly entertaining and humorous speech to the children in the hall.

Afterwards, he visited all the Year 3 and 4 classrooms and the children had an opportunity to purchase some of his books. Steve was brilliant with the children and kindly signed all their copies of the books so that they will have a wonderful memento of what proved to be a very exciting day!
